Mumbai: Essar Shipping Port & Logistics is actively looking at its port business as a major growth area and has qualified for 2-3 major port projects under the build-operate-transfer model, writes Reuters quoting its director V. Ashok.
"We're looking at private-public-partnership model. We are actively pursuing all those port projects," he told the newswire in an interview. "We have quaified for 2-3 projects. We have bid for 3-4 projects. We'll have some outcome in some port projects in a month or two."
Operating ports is a high margin business, Ashok said, adding the firm is working at raising capacities at its captive ports in Gujarat. [24/08/09]
