New contract for Farstad

BRAZILIAN oil company Petrobras has fixed Farstad's 2001-built, UT 722 L- design AHTS Far Scout on a two-year contract. The Norwegian offshore support specialist says the deal is worth Nkr180m (US$29m). Start-up of the contract will be October 2009. Farstad's fleet currently comprises of 54 vessels (24 PSV, 29 AHTS and one CSV) while three AHTS are under construction at Norwegian yards. A company statement says: “We also remain committed to solid long-term charter profile for the fleet.”
