Dual rate hikes for Evergreen Line
Taipei: Taiwan’s Evergreen Line has announced that it is to implement two rate increases: on its North America to Asia/Australia/Middle East Westbound route and on its Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound route.
In a statement to the press, the company said that the increases were “a continued effort to provide our customers with the same reliable and efficient level of services on the North America to Asia/ Australia/ Middle East Westbound trades, and on the Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound trades. It is essential to bring our freight rates back to sustainable and viable levels so that we can continue providing the comprehensive network and quality of liner services that our customers expect.”
The rate increases are as follows:
From North America to Asia/Australia/Middle East area :
* Bunker surcharge increase
Effective Date : October /01/2009
o Quantum :
From USWC and Vancouver : USD 105/20’, USD 132/40’ for dry container
USD 186/40’ for reefer container
From USEC : USD 206/20’
USD 258/40’ for dry container
USD 342/40’ for reefer container
* For commodity Waste Paper (on top the bunker surcharge increase from October /01/2009)
o Effective Date : October /01/2009
o Service scope : Originate from Tacoma, WA and Oakland, CA
o Quantum :
USD 150/40’ for Oakland
USD 200/40’ for Tacoma
* For Canada originated shipment (on top the bunker surcharge increase from October /01/2009)
o Effective Date : October /01/2009
o Quantum :
USD 160/20’
USD 200/40’ for dry container
USD 500/40’ for reefer shipment export from Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg /IPI points
USD 300/40’ for reefer shipment export from Vancouver
* For all dry cargoes (exempt cargo included)
o Effective Date : October /15/2009
o Service scope : Tacoma port & Door move from WA,OR,ID,MT without rail involved
