Evergreen joins hands with China Shipping
Taipei: The Evergreen Group has signed a letter of intent to increase cooperation with China Shipping (Group) Co starting mid-June through joint operations on two shipping routes and slot-sharing on services from Asia to the US West coast.
The lines will launch joint operations for a route linking Asia to Mexico and to the US East coast as of June 15. The route will be operated using eight 4,000teu containerships of which Evergreen will supply three and China Shipping will supply the remaining five.
The lines will also operate a joint service from Asia to Europe that will deploy eight 8,000teu ships - with each company providing four ships.
Evergreen had previously signed an agreement with China Shipping to cooperate on its Europe-Mexico service. [02/06/09]
