Rangnekar appointed new ceo for INSA
Mumbai: The Board of directors of Indian National Shipowners Association (INSA) has appointed Sudhir S. Rangnekar as ceo of the Association. Rangnekar brings with him over 36 years of industry experience including a distinguished 31-year career in SCI (the last ten of which were as a member of the board of directors) and his role as md and group ceo of Sical Logistics, Chennai.
S.S. Kulkarni who is Secretary General of INSA has been re-designated coo and along with his secretariat team will provide support to Rangnekar in his new task.
In a statement to the press, INSA stated that it “considers this appointment timely, as our national economy is showing clear signs of resurgence after the serious downturn experienced in the past 12 months. With the recent clear-cut electoral mandate and a strong central government in place, there are justifiably high expectations of several new policy initiatives. Such measures will, in time, ensure sustained growth of our economy and trade, driven by improved productivity, international competitiveness and healthier profitability. This will be an opportune time for the shipping industry to consolidate and plan its development over the next five years. With the new leadership team in place, INSA looks forward to more accelerated growth and larger recognition in the domestic and international trade arena.” [18/06/09]
