Lahore: Larger crude tankers like VLCCs and suezmaxes may soon be able to call at Pakistan. The government is planning to move all discharge and loading activities at the Pakistani ports of Karachi and Keamari to a single-buoy mooring facility offshore at Khalifa Point in the Balochistan hub.
The single-buoy mooring will shift oil to the mainland via a two kilometre-long pipeline. [16/04/09]
