Dubai: After a four year stint, Ken Sørensen has stepped down as chief executive and president of United Arab Shipping Co. An acting head will be appointed this week. During his tenure Sørensen placed one of the largest single boxship orders of all time – nine 13,100 teu ships to be built at Samsung Heavy Industries for $1.5bn. Before taking the helm in Dubai Sørensen had worked for both Maersk Sealand and Neptune Orient Lines. [19/05/09]
