Hinge takes over at UASC

Dubai: Jorn Hinge has been announced as the successor to Ken Sørensen as president and chief executive of United Arab Shipping Co. Hinge has been UASC’s coo for the past 15 years.
Waleed Al Dawood, currently chief technical officer, steps up to coo, while Basil Al Zaid, in addition to his current position of chief financial officer, will assume the responsibilities of the former chief technical officer.
“The chief executive and the executive management are entrusted to carry forward the long term strategic plans of UASC, to sustain its leader position in the region and bring the company to a viable size and capacity to compete on a larger scale,” said UASC chairman Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani.
